in recent years have created controversy about the safety of vaccines,
including questions about risks from thimerosal and links to
autism. We continue to feel that vaccines are an enormous
benefit to children and to the public health. Click here

Other vaccines that may be recommended in certain situations are shown

- Pneumococcal
polysaccharide - recommended for people with chronic health
conditions including: heart disease, sickle cell disesae, lung
disease, diabetes, cirrhosis, leukemia, lymphoma, kidney failure,
nephrotic syndrome, HIV, long term steroid use, organ transplant
spleen injury or splenectomy.
- Typhoid
- recommended for travel to certain countries
- Yellow
fever - recommended for travel to certain countries
- Rabies
- recommended for travel to certain countries, for people with high
risk of exposure to rabid animals and for people who have been
potentially exposed to rabies
- Anthrax
- recommended for certain military personnel and laboratory workers
exposed to this infection
