Michael Melman recently joined
Pediatric Affiliates in September, 2004. He grew up in New
York City and Long Island, New York. Dr. Melman
received his Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, with
distinction. He then attended medical school at The University
of Buffalo, where he graduated cum
laude. After receiving
his medical degree, he served as a pediatric leukemia research
fellow for the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer
Institute in Washington, DC. There, he received a Cancer
Research Training Award and published two papers on acute lymphoblastic
leukemia. He then headed south to Georgia where he
completed his pediatric residency at Emory University in Atlanta.
He was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2004
and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member
of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Melman's area of interest in
pediatrics includes sports medicine and nutrition. He is an
avid body-builder and enjoys spending his free time weight
training at Gold's Gym in Venice.
