Martin Fineberg has been with Pediatric Affiliates since 1988. A native of Melbourne, Australia he studied medicine at The University of Melbourne. He then trained in pediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne followed by a pediatric residency at Emory University in Atlanta. Following this, he undertook additional training in neonatology at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles. In addition, Dr Fineberg worked in the area of pediatric hematology/oncology at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia. Dr Fineberg is licensed to practice medicine in California and New South Wales, Australia, and was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1985. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association. Dr Fineberg was previously the director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center. He is now full time in general pediatrics with a special expertise and interest in the care of the high-risk NICU graduate. He is also the Pediatric Affiliates vaccine expert and is medical consultant for an informative vaccine website (www.vaccinecheck.com). This website provides extensive vaccine information and includes an interactive online scheduler where parents can print out a current vaccine schedule for their child. In his spare time Dr Fineberg enjoys weight training and swimming and is a certified personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise. He also owns a small FM radio station (www.1063thebreeze.com.au) in Port Douglas, Australia on the Great Barrier Reef. This station features an easy listening smooth jazz format that is popular with locals and tourists.
